La Fabrique de Suza - Headquarters of the MAM Foundation

The MAM Foundation is home to the Fabrique de Suza.

The choice of Grand Suza as the anchor of the Fabrique is a response to a desire to value an intimate and memorial bond with this territory of which, Alain Malong, husband of Marème Malong, is native. It is in this land that their ancestors and their son rest.

The Suza Factory is a place of experimentation and transmission, where the creator·rices, researcher·women, scientists, farmers·I don't know.

Grand Suza villageitue in the Littoral region,  40 kilometres Douala, Cameroon's economic capital. It benefits from a forest environment, rich in biodiversity, as well as a significant cultural diversity, partly due to the displaced Anglophone populations, due to the conflict that has been raging for many years in the south-west and north-west regions of Cameroon.

The Fabrique de Suza is a living, evolutionary and deeply rooted space in its region, where the direct involvement of people in activities is essential, where ideas take shape and active utopias are transformed into concrete solutions, at the service of the well-being of people, for a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Marha Organic Farm is an agroecological experimental farm founded in 2012. Today, a laboratory that opts for innovative and environmentally friendly agroecological practices, Marha aspires to become a pilot training centre. Of the 170 hectares of land held by the MAM Foundation, about 20 are allocated for organic farming (fruits of passion, pineapples, papayas, market gardening, medicinal plants like Artemisia and Moringa). Take part in this pilot project, women and youth from the Grand Suza community, committed to promoting sustainable agriculture adapted to environmental and social challenges.

By synergizing ecology, creation and knowledge, Marha empowers younger generations to think and transform their environment by developing projects with high social and environmental impact.

Thanks to the interactions between producers.rices, farmers.rices and creators.rices... we are involved in the development of a rural area, in the development of agricultural and rural occupations and in the well-being of the community (creation of jobs, obstacles to rural migration, etc.).

Within the Centre for Research and Documentation, not a static academicism, but a practice of reflections on our relationship to living in the anthropocene era. The projects are aimed at imagining, testing, and valuing ways of cohabiting with nature to invent sustainable economic models for the well-being of people. The Research and Documentation Centre reconciles science, knowledge and traditions.

At the heart of this project, the Marifa library offers a Herbier, a grain library, a collection of art works, a library of more than 5,000 references (physical and digital works) and local podcasts.

La Fabrique de Suza has about 20 accommodations to accommodate residences that bring together artists, writers,·researchers·humanities and social sciences, scientists... After being impregnated with the territory and its dynamics, residents·research and creation in close connection with the bankon community.
