Suza-Clean Village

A programme of the MAM Foundation for a Healthy and Sustainable Environment

The programme « Suza, Clean Village » The aim of the MAM Foundation is to transform Suza into a model for waste management and environmental conservation. Through the collection of plastic and organic waste, the initiative aims to improve safety while reducing the ecological footprint. Baskets are installed in the village, and thanks to a partnership with a recycling company, the collection of plastic waste offers income to the community.

This programme is based on the awareness and education of the community, especially young people. Awareness-raising campaigns are conducted throughout the year in collaboration with the village health commission and the chiefdom. This approach encourages collective waste management.

In 2025, Senegalese designer Bibi Seck will host an artistic residency in Grand Suza to transform recycled plastic into design objects. The works from this residence will be exhibited in the village and at the MAM Gallery, creating a link between recycling, art and economic development. This initiative demonstrates how waste can be transformed into economic and creative resources while strengthening the environmental sustainability of the village.
